Does anyone know if “Lifeline” Crisis Help Centre in Australia can trace your phone number?

I was wondering if Lifeline is able to trace your phone number in an emergency situation?

    My friend works for a crisis call centre and legally they are not able to trace your call unless it is an emergency, for example, you are ringing up after or during a suicide attempt.

    Probably, because there is caller ID when you ring 000. Your phone number comes up even if you are calling from a private number. Not only that, but your address comes up too. Lifeline probably have the same technology for emergencies. And FYI, you don't have to stay on the line in order for them to trace your call, those details come up immediately when you call.

    Like Summer said they can only "legally" trace your call if it and emergency and you have done or are about to to something to hurt yourself or anyone else.
    To Trace call they need to get authorisation from their supervisor and they have very strict guidelines for tracing a number.
    They can't go "oh lets trace this call" they need a very good reason to do so.
